Russ and Janna met in 2005 when they both worked for the same company. They fell in love in February 2008 and then got married in March 2010.

Russ and Janna belonged to a church that really influenced them and their faith. They dived into Bible studies and hosted multiple long term groups in their home. They studied a variety of topics and their faith flourished.
In 2016 they started praying for God to speak to them and asked for Him to reveal His will for their lives.
Janna began working as a Guardian ad Litem in 2017. She was an advocate for children in foster care. Shortly after she began she was assigned to a case with three children ages 2,3 and 5 that were all separated and in different foster homes.
Janna continued praying fervently for Gods direction in the couples life.
In 2018 the couple began the paperwork to become foster parents. They were willing to help out any children, but really wanted to get these three kids from her case to be able to live together.
They were approved to foster and on August 31, 2019 these three beautiful babies moved in and they all became an instant family!!

After years of ups and downs, lots of waiting on the legal system and even more praying for Gods will over the situation….God blessed them on May 5, 2023. The adoption was official!
They truly became a family on August 31st, 2019 when the kids moved in and the adoption date made it final through the legal system. God is good and they are super blessed family. They prayed consistently, were still and waited patiently for Gods timing, and were obedient to Gods plan. It wasn’t an easy journey, but it’s the journey that God wanted them to be on.

Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m so happy to share this adoption story with you.

As a photographer, there are moments that truly touch your heart and become cherished memories. Capturing the growth and milestones of a family is such a privilege. Recently, I had the pleasure of celebrating baby Cameron's second birthday with Bowers Family Portraits.

Baby Cameron, the youngest member of the Bowers clan has an infectious laugh and radiant smile with the cutest little dimples. As I have done for all his siblings, I documented and captured his birthday milestone through my lens.
Turning two is a significant milestone in a child's life, marking a time of exploration, growth, and curiosity. As I clicked away, capturing Cameron's infectious giggles and playful antics, I couldn't help but reflect on the beauty of these fleeting moments. Time passes quickly, but photographs have the incredible power to freeze these memories in time, allowing us to relive them over and over again.

On a bright Saturday morning The Stenson family gathered on the beach to commemorate a momentous occasion – their eldest child's upcoming graduation.
With four kids, each milestone is a cause for celebration, but this one held a special place in their hearts. They wanted to capture this significant moment in a unique and meaningful way - with the entire family and as a beach session.
The beach has always been a place of joy and togetherness, so it felt fitting to celebrate there.
Arriving at the beach, we were greeted by the soothing sound of waves and the ocean breeze.
The photo session was a whirlwind of joy, laughter, and tender moments. The children understood the significance of the occasion and were extremely cooperative. We captured candid shots and heartfelt embraces.
We went up to the picnic area where there’s a little secluded nook that was perfect for more breathtaking shots. The sun glowed here and was perfect for more group and individual photos.
This family beach photo session was a beautiful testament to the bond The Stenson Family shares and the pride they feel in their children's accomplishments. I’m so glad they got this moment captured. Congratulations Robbie and well done!

The Seabreeze High School Boys Basketball team recently had their media day photo shoot experience! We created memorable images that perfectly captured their dedication, talent, and team spirit.
The shoot took place in the school's gymnasium, where we transformed a corner into a captivating ice box setting, instead of the traditional colored smoke. The shimmering metallic surface of the box not only added a touch of uniqueness but also symbolized the team's cool and determined mindset as they prepare for the upcoming basketball season! The locker room showcased LED lighting and strobe lights for a nice party effect that was perfect for our videos.
We took some amazing group and individual shots of the players and coaches! I’m certain these images will be cherished by the players, their families, and the Seabreeze High School community for years to come.

Friendship is a beautiful bond that brings joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories into our lives. There's nothing more special than spending quality time with your friends, sharing experiences, and creating new adventures together. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing the spirit of friendship during a portrait session before these beautiful ladies girls' night out event.
The air was charged with excitement as this group of friends gathered for a fun celebration. As a photographer, I was thrilled to be part of their pre-gathering photo session, where I aimed to capture their unique personalities and the fun they have together.
Laughter filled the air as they shared jokes and embraced the moment. It was in these candid instances that I love to keep my finger on the shutter button. Genuine smiles and infectious laughs are my favorite!
The group as a whole was dynamic, but each friend possessed a distinct personality that added variety to every frame. From the outgoing and vibrant friend, to the calm and composed one, to the quiet and shy one, to the jokester - this was so nice to capture! Their personalities shined through in every image! Yay!

So who else is like me. Whenever I get dressed up nicely, put on makeup to go somewhere special I ALWAYS take pictures before I leave the house.
When my friends have gone out I ask if they took pictures they tell me they didn't have time or they were running late. Just recently, my coworker shared that she went out over the weekend for "Girls Night Out" and they were all dressed up and cute. A stranger offered to take their photos and they all came out super blurry. Yikes! I know this has happened to you too because it surely has happened to me! It sucks and is definitely my confirmation for me sharing these tips with you.
With these tips and my 2 favorite apps, you too can take your images quickly (less than one minute) and easily on your cell phone! Of course, if you're celebrating an extra special occasion or you don't even want to deal with any hassle you can always book a session with me to get real deal professional images. *wink (see the book tab above on my website header)

Black Barbie & Ken.. *ahem* I mean Kazia and CJ are the best and sweetest mommy and daddy to these little kiddos. They’ve been with me since their first child (of four) was born, and I’m so happy they love and have stuck with me ever since!! Today thier 3rd child, Londyn is 4 and she is all into princess dresses so mom and dad saw it fit that they give her what she wants and they had a family royalty session!
As a photographer, it is so amazing watching these kids grow from shoot-to-shoot. I'm so thankful when a family includes me from the beginning. Love this family so much!
Check out Londyn's 4th birthday shoot and few shots from over the years! Happy Birthday Little Princess! Hasn’t she grown so much?!!!!!

Another great family reunion finished! This is when quality images count… these will give them something to look back on for years to come! Meet The Duggans!
We have a beautiful mom with her amazing three adult kids, thier spouses, her 8 grandchildren, and Ulla the granddog. Her ex and grandson's girlfriend got in a few shots to truly make this a family affair! We chose to meet at Ormond Memorial Gardens in Ormond Beach, FL since we had a large group. The weather was nice and it was a great time.

Today I'd like to wish the happiest 18th Birthday to this soon to be high school graduate! Not only did we capture Daziya's 18th birthday portraits we also took her high school senior pics too. Two milestones at once!
No question that this time in life is truly a mile marker and a big occasion to celebrate! Turning 18 while preparing to graduate from high school is a crossing in life that is BIG! It's when a child becomes a young adult. It's so exciting for parents, families and of course their children.
Happy 18th Birthday Daziya!
Family time and Daddy-Daughter time.
Sisterly Love! Just the best of friends.
Family over everything. Grandmas, aunts and uncle celebrating Daziya too!
Such a beautiful milestone to journey into!
"She's almost there" ~ Princess Tiana. Coming soon............Graduation Day! Another awesome mile marker in life!
How do you plan to commemorate your child's 18th birthday and senior year?

I know it’s reaching but it’s really the truth! Ask anyone who’s had a photo session with me. I hear it all the time!
Family photo sessions are so fun and a must because the kids are growing and changing EVERY YEAR! It’s so crazy how fast they grow.
The best part of having a session at One Daytona is that after your session you can enjoy more time with family having dinner, going to the movies, or having ice cream and donut (or all of the above LOL)! It’s the ultimate Family Day when you add a photo session before it all. I encourage a little food and fun bribery for the kids anyway ~ even though it’s usually not needed because kids and (non photo loving) dads actually enjoy my photo sessions after the first couple shots. I hear “That wasn’t painful at all” all the time too.
This beautiful family had a fantastic day.

We decided to shoot at The Dunlawton SugarMill Gardens on the morning of New Year’s Eve. It was an overcast, cool to mild day. Perfect for a photo session!
They showed me their favorite places they visit around the garden so I made sure to get images where they were familiar with most. On the last bridge we spotted a lotus flower alone near a rock in the water and it reminded them of a special story. It was truly an honor and inspiration to experience this photo session with them.

My mom was the first one ready, as usual. She's truly photogenic like Kam and loves taking pictures because my dad used to take pics of her all the time. (I'll share them soon).
To take these Christmas I used my tripod, timer and shutter clicker. It's how I love to capture our memories. See my tutorial on how to set up your own DIY tripod here.
The last pics are of Kam! She loves being my model. I get a lot of practice with her and I'm tahnkful. She used to hate taking pics. Not now obviously. The stuffed animal is Chopper her little anime favorite. smh
Enjoy!

Well, graduation season is upon us!! Remember it's never too late to get senior photography. Graduation is a time to celebrate and document.
Below are our top five tips for taking on your senior portrait (or any portrait photography session) with grace and confidence and leaving with photos that you will love for years to come.
1. Use your eyes.
Use your eyes to express emotion. When you smile naturally your whole face lights up and your eyes look bright and awake. Before the photo session practice smiling in the mirror and use different expressions to see what looks best. The "smize" method is great = smiling with your eyes.
2. Relax.
Great photos happen when you are relaxed and confident. Let the excitement of your photo session show through the lens as you take a moment to relax and just have fun.
3. Breathe.
This may sound obvious but breathing is key to capturing a natural look. Take time to practice taking a deep breath while smiling or looking serious in front of the mirror. Slowly release the air while holding your expression and notice how your face and eyes settle into a natural and relaxed expression. Allow your eyes to “smize” and just breathe.
4. Move.
Staying stationary can sometimes produce a very staged and cheesy look. Just because you are sitting or standing still doesn’t mean you can’t change the angle of your body to create a look that is fresh and inspired. Lean into the camera slightly to appear more engaged, shift your weight from left to right, or simply move your chin slightly up and down for different shots as this gives a variety of facial expressions to work with.
5. Beautify.
This goes for everyone. Ladies, spend some extra time getting your hair blown out, get your makeup done and choose an outfit that makes you look and feel your best. As for the men, take a shower and shave. When you look your best, you feel your best and when you feel your best, you're naturally more confident. Go the extra mile to walk into your senior session feeling confident, attractive, prepared, and inspired.

You know I have two jobs right?
I'm a pathologists' assistant and a professional photographer at Kim Steward Photography. My side hustle is not photography it's my online store The Steward Boutique.
About a month ago I ran a campaign for Spring/Easter Mini Photo Sessions......................no one booked. People were interested but nobody booked. I was bummed at first so I was going to post my flyers on Swip Swap and Parent Facebook Groups but my inner voice told me not to, that inner voice was really the Holy Spirit, and I listened.
My mini sessions were scheduled for yesterday, all day March 20th the first day of Spring, how fitting, right?! But......Yesterday, all day IT RAINED! I would've been devastated!!
It would've been a hot mess if I didn't listen to the Holy Spirit when I did. I'm so thankful even though plans didn't go how I wanted initially but I was able to rest, relax and refresh as I had an extremely long week. It was much needed and I'm grateful. It's not many Saturdays I'm not shooting and I'm able to relax.
So with that being said it doesn't mean I'm not going to try again! When we fall we get back up and try again, right?
Before I do please let me know what type of Mini Sessions you are personally interested in moving forward?

A normal photoshoot with me usually lasts 1-2 hours and covers multiple locations, backgrounds and outfit changes.
Mini photoshoots, however, last about 20 minutes and include a smaller number of edited photos than a normal session.
Minis are extremely popular due to their lower price point, making professional photography more accessible to everyone and they’re just plain fun!
They’re perfect for small children since their attention spans are shorter, great for families, couples and solo sessions too!
My upcoming Easter Spring Mini Sessions are on Saturday March, 20th and include a 20 minute photoshoot of indoor/outdoor images with different backgrounds and looks for $175 to include 15 beautifully edited digital images.

COVID-19 Precautions are taken during every photo session.
Photoshoots, by nature are COVID-19 friendly. As your photographer I keep a safe 6 foot distance while directing you from afar. My variety of lenses allows me to capture close-ups while being socially distant. I also wear my mask at all times and have hand sanitizer always available.
You can remove your mask for your photos only.
I look forward to capturing your images soon!!

How long have you been a photographer? The longer a photographer has been in business, the more likely it is that it’s not just a hobby for them.
Which types of photography do you specialize in? It’s uncommon for a photographer to specialize in several different types of photography as they often only specialize in one or sometimes two genres. For example, a photographer who specializes in newborn photography might not be the best candidate to shoot wedding photos unless they have the experience in doing so.
Do you have many repeat clients? This is a great test of not only the quality of a photographer’s work but of their customer service too.
What is your policy on rescheduling a session? An experienced photographer will definitely have a policy in place when it comes to a customer cancelling or rescheduling a photography session. A photographer with policies indicates that they have experience with different types of customers and situations and have created policies accordingly.
Have you had any experience with (name your specific concern)? If you have any specific concerns regarding your photo session such as the photographer’s ability to work with a special needs child for example, find out if they have ever handled that type of situation before. Do not dismiss a photographer and their abilities based on their answers to your concerns. If given adequate notice, an experienced photographer should be able to deal with any situation you present them. This is the hallmark of a true pro.
Silent Question: Use your gut to judge their personality and rapport. A photographer’s main job is to capture emotions and moments. If your photographer doesn’t mesh well with you on the phone, in person or in messaging, chances are you and your family will not mesh well with them at your session and this will show in your photos.
One of my very first clients.
It's amazing to document their family grow.
She was so tiny and is now a big sister. Love this so much!
Since I have you here let me tell you a little about me, Kim Steward of Kim Steward Photography!
I've been a professional photographer since 2013 and I specialize in family portraits. I take pride in being given the name Lifetime Photographer by my repeat clients. I have client testimonials on my website and on my Facebook Business Page.
A deposit is required at the time of booking a photo session and it's taken out of your final balance due. A 24 hours notice is needed to reschedule a session or else your deposit is forfeited.
I hope this blog helps in booking your next photo session.

Top tips for getting the most out of your professional photography session.
If you are prepping for your first photoshoot you probably have a couple questions about what to expect. A common concern for people having their photos taken for the first time is what to wear.
Here are 7 Top Tips for Deciding What to Wear for a Photoshoot
What is the purpose of the photoshoot? This should be your first thought when deciding what to wear. Choose an appropriate outfit for the occasion and something that suits your personality!
Keep the location & season in mind. Where is the photoshoot taking place? Choose an outfit that will keep you feeling comfortable and confident. For example, if you’re on a beach, those new high heels might not be the most logical choice.
Mix and match. Don’t be afraid to wear patterns or prints for your photoshoot but keep them to a minimum and try to pair them with solid colors. If you’re having a family photoshoot for example, have two family members in printed items and two in solid colors. Play with different colors to match the mood and setting of the shoot.
Make your photos timeless. You might love that trendy top or pair of pants now but will your photos stand the test of time if you wear that item of clothing?
What to do about makeup. This would depend on the type of photos you are taking. Fashion shoots will call for more dramatic makeup but for your everyday maternity, family or portrait shoots, keep your makeup more natural and obviously super cute.
Fit is more important that you think. If you already have an outfit in mind for your shoot, try it on before the time to make sure that it fits correctly and you're happy with it.
Try not to go brand crazy. Wearing too much clothing with prominent brand names (unless it's your own brand and it's a branding shoot) just makes you look like a walking ad. Clothing with large graphics on it also doesn’t work well either as it will end up being the focus of your photos.
Remember to have fun on your photoshoot and be yourself!! Your photographer will definitely guide you the whole way through.
If you have ever wondered what spurs on a photographer’s passion, you are about to find out! Below are just some of the many reasons your photographer wouldn’t change their job for anything in the world.
Photography changes how she see things. She notices colors, textures, flowers, trees, people, shapes and light in a way most people never see them.
She pays more attention to the beauty around her. Even the most mundane object can become beautiful when you photograph it in a creative way. Many photographers love their job because they develop a fascination with the world around them by viewing it through new eyes.
It's an amazing creative outlet. She gets the chance to put a little bit of who she is into each photo that she takes. Anyone can click a camera's buttons but not everyone can truly make a photo come to life.
It's a challenge. Creating amazing photos that capture the magic of everyday life doesn’t come without hard work, dedication and imagination. There is always something new to explore and a new way to take the same photos. It’s a job that never gets boring.
She gets to meet new people all the time! A photographer works with people from all walks of life. Getting to know someone new is a part of the process of bringing someone’s personality through in a photo. It also makes the job so much fun!
The flexibility is great. Working her day job full time allows her to photograph in the evening during the golden hours, which is the perfect time for a session anyway. This doesn’t mean it’s a laid back profession though. A photographer is always aiming to perfect their craft, taking on new challenges and helping their clients achieve the most perfect pictures. I work hard before, during and after every session!
When you decide to pay for a professional photo session, know that you are hiring an individual who is passionate about what they do and is willing to go the extra mile to help you create beautiful photos that you can treasure forever.
XOXO

What you need to consider before you pay that photography deposit.
If you’ve started the search for a photographer then you’ll know just how many options there are. Before you go ahead and book a professional photographer for a shoot though, there are a couple important things to consider.
What style are you looking for?
Photographers have different styles so you need to decide on someone who can help you achieve the end result you are looking for. This applies to everything from wedding and maternity shoots to family and corporate shoots. Ask the photographer for some examples of their latest work to evaluate whether they can cater to your needs.
Research and review.
Before you invest in a professional photographer you need to do your homework. Get online to find a few customer reviews, browse around their website to view their latest work and have a look around their social media pages to find out what others are saying about them. These platforms will also give you a good idea of their personality and style. Some other important points to consider when researching photographers are:
Budget. Do their services fall within your price range?
Expertise. Are they experienced enough to give you the results you are looking for?
Location. Are they based in your area and are they willing to travel to a specific location if need be?
Quality. Is the quality of their photos good enough? Look at aspects such as sharpness, exposure and saturation.
Create a list.
Once you have done your research, create a short list of professional photographers that stand out for you. Get in touch with each of them to discuss your needs and to ask any questions that you might have. It’s important that you have a conversation with the photographer as this is the best way to get to know them and find out whether you’ll be able to work with them.
It’s important that you pick a photographer that you have confidence in! Your photos are there to last you a lifetime!

Today I want to tell you a little about me and how I serve you!!
I’ve been a photographer since 2013. Before that photography was only my hobby. Growing up, my father was also a hobby photographer. He had a Nikon film camera and even developed his own images. I was never interested in the craft until I had my own kids and family.
Back then, my father always took pictures of us but he was never in them. He never pulled out a tripod and joined us in photos. I don't even think he owned a tripod. Now that he's passed away we look at all the images he took of us but don't have many images of him. That's the reason I began taking pictures. I wanted to document my children as they grow and capture all of us together as a family enjoying life. I love photography so much and all the memories I've captured of my own family and others.
Portraits are family heirlooms and increase in value as time goes on. Photos remain when our loved ones have not. Family memories in the form of imagery are truly an important legacy to cherish.
So whether you have a professional camera or use your cell phone to take pictures, download my seven simple photography tips that can make YOU a better photographer starting TODAY!!!

The photos that a photographer hands over to you are part of their life’s work. It has their name or branding attached to it so there are a few important restrictions to note when it comes to the professional digital images that you receive.
1) Copyright. The digital images that your photographer provides you with have a copyright, which means the photographer has the option to use those photos to market their work and services anytime in the future. We are however also respectful of our clients so if there are any images that you would prefer to keep private, it’s best to let us know about it ahead of time so that we can honor your wishes.
2) Image type. We aren’t able to provide you with the original files or raw images. All images given to the client have been cropped, enhanced and edited. If you do require further touch ups let us know.
3) Image altering. While we appreciate your business and welcome the sharing of our photos on social media platforms, we ask that the images not be altered in any way as this is against our copyright policies.
What constitutes image altering?
Adding filters or editing photos in Photoshop
Removing our logo or studio name
Color correcting or including transitions from color to black and white
Clipping people or objects out of the original shot
So why do we have this as a restriction? Our photos are a representation of our work so when a customer alters an image it directly impacts our name and brand in the industry. When we present you with final images, they have already been through our editing process and don’t require further alterations. When images are altered, the results are not always reflective of our original work and can then be mistaken for ours. We greatly appreciate your loyalty and cooperation in this matter.
We are happy to give a quote if you want images to be edited in a specific or certain way and we can always make additional alterations and edits, to an extent, if asked.
So let me know if this post is helpful!! I hope so!!
Kim
Hey Everyone!
Amazing photos deserve an equally amazing display but this doesn’t mean you always have
to use a traditional frame to showcase them in your home.
Below I've listed a little inspiration for deciding how to display your favorite memories!
If your home décor is very contemporary you might want to consider canvas gallery wraps,
image blocks or standout mounts to showcase your photos. Going frameless is also a great
option if you’re looking for something truly sleek and modern.
If rustic and chic is more your style, then why not turn old pieces of wood into stained photo
clipboards, using binder clips to hang the photos against the wood. Another unique option is
to hang your photos on a thin cable to make it look like a clothesline. Binder clips also work
perfectly for this.
If you’re the creative type and have some extra time on your hands then there is the option
of creating frames out of washi tape. This way you can incorporate different colors and
designs around your photos to really make your walls pop.
If you are a fan of frames (like me), why not buy different sizes, colors and styles and create one big
photo wall that displays a variety of memories. There are so many shapes and designs that
you can use to create your photo wall and really make it your own.
Since I work with so many creative vendors who offer a wide variety of traditional framing and display options, I am able to help you pick a unique option that suites your home and style. Whether you order form my website or want to tackle your own DIY project, I am always here to help!
No matter which method you choose, get creative and have fun!
Filling your walls with a lifetime of memories is one of the most special and visual ways to tell the story of your family, so get
hanging! LOL
With Love,
Kim

The key to taking genuine and authentic family photos, professionally or on your cell phone, is knowing how to pose in front of the camera.
If you’ve never taken professional family photos before or if you simply want to improve on your last session, here is some advice on how to pose that will leave you with exceptional images. Yay!
Ready?!?! Here it goes!!
Get Close
The last thing you want is a family portrait that looks stiff and awkward. The secret to creating a beautiful, intimate family photo is to get close. Snuggle up with the people you love if you want the best photos. If there are people of varying heights in the photo, take a few photos on the same level so that you can get your heads close together too.
Have Fun
Your photos always look more authentic when your family is genuinely having fun and laughing. Spend time talking about your favorite vacation or a memory that makes you all laugh out loud. These candid moments always make for the best photos.
Keep it Natural
When you overthink posing, it takes away from the genuineness of your photos, which is why it helps to shoot your family photos in a setting where you’re all comfortable and where you can go about your lives as naturally as possible. For example, if you’re in an outdoor setting, take your little one for a walk. If you’re shooting at home, bake something together or snuggle up for a story.
Use Your Surroundings
Very often, standing upright in the middle of a room or garden will make your photos look and feel stiff. Use your surroundings to make yourselves more comfortable. For example, if there’s a wall in the vicinity, lean up against it. If there’s a couch available, pose on that for a few shots.
Make Use of Props
I always utilize props in my sessions. If you would like to change things up a bit or give a younger child something to do, you can also always incorporate a few basic props into your photos to get a few non-standard shots.
If you still have questions about your shoot and how to make the most of it, let me know and I will be happy to assist you with additional tips.
That’s it for now! Be safe and God Bless!

So here’s my story:
To put it short we all have a “thing” that we love to do and we’re good at and that thing is what you’re always helping friends and family with. It’s your “secret sauce”. We all have something we’re super knowledgeable about that people go to you about, right?
Well mine is editing or “fixing” pictures. I’m so obsessed with it that sometimes I’ll save a pic from someone’s Facebook just to edit it. I know that sounds so OCD, please don’t judge me. Lol!
I love making photos aesthetically pleasing. It brings me joy and I want extend what I love to do to YOU!!
A lot of you have already gotten a chance to try my photo editing service for free and that was a huge success!!! I received some golden feedback and now I launching my Kim Steward Editing Service!!!! I’m super excited!!

Long time no speak.
I pray that everyone and their families are staying healthy and safe during this coronavirus crisis.
These past few weeks have definitely been times of much prayer, reflection, and gratitude. I’m realizing that I took so much granted. I’m always thankful but now I am extremely thankful and grateful for all the blessings God has given me, my family and friends. Words can’t even describe!!!!
I’ve been meaning to consistently post on my blog and now I can. Even though I’m still working everyday I have so much to say!
We went from an extremely active, busy life, dropping off and picking up our kids from their extracurricular, afterschool activities to spending uninhibited, consistent, quality family time together.
From eating dinner and doing homework in the car on the way to practice or a game to meal time together EVERY night and having help with homework right on the spot.
I know this is a horrible time in world history. There’s tragedy, sickness and death like we’ve never seen before in any of our lives. My sincere condolences go out to everyone who’s lost a loved one due to COVID-19. You and your families are in my family’s thoughts and prayers.
We have to remember that no matter what we are going through God is by our side and it’s ok to find the silver lining and good in every single situation.
What’s the silver lining you’ve unexpectedly discovered in these unprecedented times?
Our backyard. We got this new fence and lawn furniture in January. We finally get to enjoy it as of now, months later.
In remembrance to all who served our country and honoring those that served......past, present and future,
Thank you and God Bless you for your sacrifice!!!
I read a quote recently that said:
“A soldier doesn’t fight because he hates what’s in front of him. He fights because he loves what’s behind him”. Truly put a big ole lump in my throat.
From our family to all who serve, we are externally grateful to you and your families.
Today I urge you to take a meaningful image representing the meaning of Memorial Day to you. It could be of yourself (selfie) or yourself with your family (usie? lol). Incorporate the flag 🇺🇸 or the colors red, white and blue. You can take a pic of someone holding their loved ones military memorabilia or a photo or simply holding them! The one who put their life on the line for us to live the lives we do.
Again thank you!
Tips again are:
1. Incorporate the flag.
2. Incorporate the flag colors.
3. Take a pic including military memorabilia.
4. Take a pic including your loved one who served.
I hope you enjoyed this newsletter and are a little inspired after reading it to take some cool pics!
Happy Memorial Day &
Happy Snapping,
~Kim Steward~

]]>I have a confession to make....... I hate selfies! I love self portraits! You’re wondering what’s the difference? Here’s my opinion:
Selfies are quick, spur of the moment pics of yourself alone or with others. Self portraits have a bit more thought, creativity and artistic fun behind them.
Take your self portraits with a tripod and remote shutter release button. Again find your great background, set up your camera, set the timer if you want, then pose and press your shutter button. Hold your pose an extra 2 seconds to prevent image blur. Practice to get that perfect shot! Don't forget your pose: turn slightly to the side, back leg is straight, front leg is bent. Take lots of pics. It takes 5-10 shots for even me to get the perfect image.
Your tripod and shutter button works great for outfit of the day pics, family & friends shots and allows you to be in all your images. Remember to edit! Check out my quick editing tips on my last blog/YouTube post.
I can’t wait to see your self portraits!
Until next time! God Bless!!

Every now and again my husband and I will drive around town to find different photography locations to take my clients to. There are lots of beautiful places in the area already like parks and the beach. Now there’s a new location in Daytona that I just love. One Daytona! It has an urban contemporary feel and is great for families, fun and photography!
One Daytona is so nice and is almost complete. It has so many photo ops. I can’t wait to do a photo session here! Night or Day this place is awesome!

It was so nice capturing this stunning couple. They were amazing and their images are awesome. My ten year old son was my assistant this day and all he could talk about was football since he and Commander David are both Steelers fans. 😊
It was also good for me to get out my comfort zone of being in the studio. It was a challenge at first to envision the images I wanted but it easily came together quickly as soon as I arrived saw how elegant Wanda was! She just set the tone! Fun, fun, fun! Oh how I love LOVE!! #Valentine'sDay
]]>Greetings all!
Happy Friday!
On my first blog post I forgot to include that I’ll also be discussing health and fitness.
I used to be super motivated, working out all the time, even taught a “Gospel Zumba” class at church. What happened you ask? I stopped teaching the class then I didn’t continue working out like I had been and here I am 20 pounds later. I didn’t feel I had to work out as much. I was obviously, clearly wrong!!
Now I have an awesome new health coach (my best friend back home in Michigan) to help me along the way, become more aggressive and accountable for my workouts and eating habits. She keeps me motivated and provides amazing fitness and health tips!
Mike and I agreed on our Fridate we both need coaches/mentors/and or accountability partners in all aspects of our lives. It helps you stay on task so much! So far we have two spiritual coaches (our Pastors) individual health coaches and business accountability partners.
Side note: My husband IS a strength coach as well but it’s really hard to get told what to do, not do and pushed hard by your own husband. Didn’t work for us......ok me.....didn’t work for me! Love him dearly though 😊)
If there is something you’re passionate about and really want to do it’s not too late! Just do it!! Start today!! You’ll thank yourself tomorrow. I promise!
The Word reads:
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Here are 5 quick tips you can do right now to live better and be better.
Stay blessed!

I’m Kim Steward, owner of Kim Steward Photography. I’m a portrait and wedding photographer, wife to an amazing husband and mother to two outstanding kids.
Welcome to my first blog post. My blog will include all things photography. I plan to showcase my client sessions and share photo tips. I’ll also include inspirational, family and marriage content as well.
1 Peter 4:10 reads:
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
Share your gift. Use whatever gift God has blessed you with and bless someone else.
Last night my husband, Mike and I had our “Fridate”. It’s the first of our monthly Friday night dates dedicated to keep ourselves accountable to our 2018 vision and goals. We want to do so much this year in our businesses. He’s a strength and assistant basketball coach and is CEO of The Bridge Building Program which is dedicated to mentoring, tutoring and teaching basketball skills to our youth in the community. His side hustle is personal training.
My 9-5 “day” job is actually in Pathology and my side hustle, my passion is photography ❤️.
So what is your gift that you can use to bless others? What’s your passion?
